SMOG REFUGEES
COOKBOOK | 2018
This piece that was inspired by Geoffrey Hendricks, a FLUXUS artist. Hendricks’ work was very absurdist in nature and a lot of his performances and pieces related heavily to the sky. Following these two themes, I designed a satirical cookbook based on some cities with the worst instances of air pollution. These recipes have the standard components of most cookbooks, but feature cynical, dark language that corresponds to the individual locations featured.
The images are all photographs of common kitchen items. Overlayed over them are scenes of pollution and different dirty textures.
